Dr. Bruce Hamaker receives Trask Award

Dr. Bruce Hamaker has received the Trask Technology Innovation Award.  The Trask Technology Innovation Program was established in 1974, and is a Purdue University development mechanism to assist faculty with additional work to further the commercial potential of intellectual property disclosed to the Office of Technology Commercialization.  The program does not support basic research but instead provides funds to reduce inventions to practice or provide additional data or experimental data that will make the technology more marketable or patentable.

The Trask program is open to Purdue faculty and students who have licensed intellectual property from the university.  Awards are limited to a one-time pre-seed investment.

Kellogg Company donates equipment

The Whistler Carbohydrate Research Center thanks the Kellogg Co. for the generous donation of two extruders and ancillary equipment given to the Department of Food Science and the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University. The equipment is currently being installed in the Food Science pilot plant. The two extruders and the ancillary equipment (slit and ribbon die, conveyor and pelletizer) will be used in research and teaching activities of our current research programs.
