Dr. Kwan-Hwa Park

2004 Belfort Lecturer

Dr. Kwan-Hwa Park presented the 2004 Belfort Carbohydrate Lecture on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Purdue University.  The title of his presentation was "Enzymes for Carbohydrate Engineering and Their Applications: Enzymatically Structures Starch for Food Industry".

Dr. Park is Director and Professor of the Center for Agricultural Biomaterials, and department of Food Science and Technology at Seoul National University.  The Center has twenty five faculty members in three research divisions.  

Dr. Park graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Chemistry in 1966, and a M.S. in Agricultural Chemistry in 1971 from Seoul National University.  He earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1976 from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.  Dr. Park has been with the Department of Food Science and Technology at Seoul National University since 1976.
